It seems that whenever I have something important to do (Study, write up my resume, draw a request, finish a project on a deadline) I inadvertently have a massive burst of inspiration for something else. *sigh* Anyway.
I've been reading some lovely and inspiring blogs lately (The Well, The Three Spinsters, The Art of Clothes) and have been thinking of adding some different types of posts to my blogging repertoire, rather than only one or two posts of quality and the rest being rants driven by emotion. Of course, I won't be able to post anything of the intelligent caliber of The Well, for example, but hopefully the standard of my posts will be raised a little.
Back to the repertoire. A couple kind of...categories could be:
*Knitting. (unfortunately I don't have any of my knitting supplies right now, but I would still like to post about styles and techniques that interest me)
*Costume studies. (I've been considering doing this for a while. I could also take requests, or something.)
*Book related things. (unfortunately I haven't really had time or peace of mind to read lately, but that will be remedied soon.)
*History related things.

I was also thinking of posting essays, but I'm not sure if anyone would read those. Maybe I should just make a different blog for schooling?

And...yeah...I'm probably going to still post rants from time to time, but nice things are good, too.

  1. Ah, I know exactly what you're talking about there. math (reading!) piano (knitting!) general chores (shows!)
ah well. I try to convince myself that i really did put up a good fight, as i sit down to the above indulgences. You seem to have very nice and ambitious goals!
You flatterer, you. Really i am touched, but your posts are of just as much, and very often more, quality than mine. I like reading hot-off-the-presses ranty emotional stuff just as much as the wonderful, brilliant and inspiring things like word lists, yarn bombing, and quirky historical points of interest. All your ideas are fabulous, in my opinion.
My blessings go with you. May the sun shine-no, seriously. May you find the time and peace of mind to read, may the costume-studies genie attend you, may the knitting fairies travel always by your side!
I shall read those essays, yes i shall.
nice things are good too. That's a thing to remember, thank you for the much needed reminder ^_______^

    1. I can't believe that I didn't see this comment! *smacks forehead*
Yes, putting up a good fight and even having help can't win against the allure of knitting and Doctor Who.
No, no, especially not lately. As I've said many times before, you have such a great range of subjects and especially important ones about the environment and world events. My posts of late have only been about what I'VE been doing, which is of no real help to anyone.
That...I...Thank you! *snorts* That is brilliant. Costume studies genie...knitting fairies...I'm going to have to write that down.

  2. we're all just slinging compliments at each other here like mud pies!
Anyway. I can't wait for the knitting ones! And essays and history related things are awesome. The only way forward is to look to the past. Or...something. You've already done so many inspiring costume analysis! But, yeah! bring it on, lady!
